Siliguri, 07th August: After battling with illness and coronavirus, Ashok Bhattacharya, Chairman of Administrative Board at Siliguri Municipal Corporation, joined work today after a long period of two months.
It is to recall, Bhattacharya tested COVID-19 positive and got admitted to a private hospital in Matigara, on June 18. After undergoing treatment at the hospital for around 21 days, he successfully recovered from the infection and returned home.
About a month after returning home, he attended a programme organized to mark the death anniversary Rabindranath Tagore on behalf of SMC today.
Following this, he went to his office, where he was welcomed by the SMC officials. However, Bhattacharya made it very clear that he will not be attending anyone for the next few days excluding emergencies.
