Siliguri, 19th December: Chairman of Board of Administrators at Siliguri Municipal Corporation, Ashok Bhattacharya once again accused the state government of financially neglecting the SMC. In addition to this, he demanded Municipality election be conducted at the earliest.
While addressing the media today, Ashok Bhattacharya said that even after sanctioning money for various projects, SMC has not received any fund. However, despite the economic crisis, he claimed to have worked for the development of Siliguri. He has demanded immediate election to 110 municipal boards in the state before the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections.
Bhattacharya has been raising concerns regarding the financial crisis being facing by SMC and the state government perpetually ignoring the issue time and again.
