Siliguri, 23rd September: Various areas of the city have been submerged under rainwater due to continuous downpour since last night. In this concern, Ashok Bhattacharya, chairman of the BoA at Siliguri Municipal Corporation, on Wednesday morning, inspected the affected wards. He was accompanied by other officials of SMC.
At first, Bhattacharya visited Ward No. 39 Haiderpara this morning. Addressing the media, he stated that the roads have been waterlogged due to heavy rains. He further alleged that some corrupt traders have put slabs over the sewers, resulting in the blockage of the drainage system. He assured of looking into the matter soon.
