Siliguri, 28th September: State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived in Siliguri today on a three-day North Bengal tour. She is likely to hold administrative meetings along with the officials of five districts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In this context, Ashok Bhattacharya stated that after being elected in SMC’s BoA, he hoped to approach the CM with various demands. However, as he has not been invited to the meeting, he expressed outrage and accused the state government of being biased towards the opposition parties.
He further stated that despite Siliguri playing a vital role concerning country borders, the Center and the state government are reluctant to give importance to the city. He said that although he tried to draw the attention of the CM by presenting various demands in writing, all efforts have gone in vain.
