Siliguri, 03rd February: Today, during an event, Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya stated that despite financial deprivation, development work is still being carried out in the city.
Ashok Bhattacharya launched a total of 80 road improvement projects in Siliguri with a budget of 22 crore rupees. He inaugurated the project by lighting a lamp at a ceremony of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
Deputy Mayor Rambhajan Mahato, Mayor-in-council Kamal Agarwal, Shankar Ghosh and Mukul Sengupta were present during the event.
The Mayor stated they received no cooperation from the state government during their five years of power and suffered financial deprivation. Yet, various developmental works have been done for the people. He also maintained that with the help of the financial support of the Rajya Sabha MPs works are being conducted. He informed that the work would be completed within the next few months.
