Siliguri, 14th April: Candidates of all the contesting political parties are electioneering in full swing on the last day election campaign.
Siliguri Assembly Sanjukta Morcha candidate Ashok Bhattacharya has been busy campaigning since morning. On Wednesday, he campaigned at the Vivekananda Road and the red-light areas. He was accompanied by Pintu Ghosh, co-ordinator of Ward No. 07 and other activists and supporters.
Ashok Bhattacharya said that people are giving more response in this campaign as compared to the previous assembly elections. “I am optimistic about winning 100%. I have carried out developmental works in the city as an MLA for 25 years and have met the needs of the people,” he stated.
He added that many people in Siliguri are worrying about their safety after the Sitalkuchi incident. “Siliguri is an exceptional city and political conflicts do not take place here,” he asserted.
