Siliguri, 01st June: The Ashighar outpost police arrested two men with cannabis. The arrested accused have been identified as Samir Roy and Umesh Roy. They are residents of South Ektiasal and Bholanath para.
The Ashighar outpost police, based on a tip-off, launched operations at the Baneshwar More area and detained the two youths. After searching them, two bags containing 24.6 kgs of cannabis were recovered from their possession. The approximate value of cannabis has been estimated to be 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees. Apparently, the duo has been running illegal cannabis business in the city for a long time.
The arrested individuals will be produced at the Jalpaiguri court.
