Article 370: Supreme Court‘s Constitution Bench to hear petitions challenging repeal on July 11

On July 11, a Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, is scheduled to hear a series of petitions challenging the repeal of Article 370, which granted special status to the former state of Jammu and Kashmir. This comes nearly four years after the abrogation of the article.

The batch of petitions, numbering around 20, will be presented before the court for directions. It is important to mention that following the revocation of Article 370, the state of Jammu and Kashmir was bifurcated into two Union Territories as per the provisions of the constitution.
