Siliguri, 27th June: Debashish Pramanik, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) President of Dabgram Fulbari Block, was arrested in connection with a land-related case. Alongside Pramanik, two other individuals have also been apprehended.
The arrests were made on Wednesday night by the NJP police station. The three detainees, including Pramanik, were subsequently transferred to Siliguri police station. On Thursday, all three were presented before the Jalpaiguri court.
Reportedly, the arrests stemmed from a complaint lodged by a resident of Paghalu Para, alleging land encroachment. Debashish Pramanik, a prominent political figure in the Fulbari area and a former official of the Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad, was detained based on this complaint.
Pramanik refrained from commenting on the matter following his arrest. Meanwhile, another individual, identified as Bimal Roy, expressed uncertainty regarding the reasons behind the arrest.
