Siliguri, 17th May: A shocking incident unfolded in Siliguri’s Punjabi Para area when an army vehicle exploded while it was stationed at a local garage. The blast resulted in serious injuries to three employees of the garage and an army personnel. The explosion created a wave of panic and apprehension throughout the area. The injured garage employees have been identified as Sadavis Biswas, Sanjay Sarkar, and Chitto Sarkar.
According to reports, on Wednesday morning, an army officer’s vehicle was undergoing AC gas filling at the garage situated in Punjabi Para, Ward No. 13 of Siliguri. Suddenly, a powerful explosion rocked the premises, causing severe injuries to the army personnel and the three employees. Swift action was taken, and the injured individuals were immediately transported to Siliguri District Hospital for urgent medical attention. Presently, they are receiving treatment at the hospital.
Ward Councilor and Mayor Council Manik Dey wasted no time in reaching the location as soon as news of the incident broke. The Panitanki Out Post police also swiftly arrived at the scene to ensure security and commence an investigation. Manik Dey expressed concern over the situation, stating that the garage had previously been advised to relocate due to the hazardous nature of their work.
