Rajganj, 25th July: The residents of Haricharan Bhita in Rajganj are facing inconvenience as their primary means of commute, the approach road leading to a concrete bridge over the Hariya River, was washed away due to the water pressure of the Teesta Irrigation Canal. This incident, which occurred on Tuesday, has left the locals stranded and cut off from essential transportation routes.
Adding to their troubles, the closure of irrigation water from the canal has further exacerbated the situation for the residents who rely on it for agricultural purposes. The extended irrigation canal, stretching from Karatoa Bridge in Ambari to Badlagachh in Majhiali Gram Panchayat, serves as a crucial water source for numerous villages in the area. The affected residents are urging for immediate action to repair the damaged canal and restore the approach road.
