Application under ‘Amader Para Amader Samadhan’, crematorium work begins in Naxalbari

Naxalbari, 31st December: An application for the construction of a crematorium was submitted in August under the ‘Amader Para Amader Samadhan’ camp. Based on that application, work on the crematorium began on the last day of December. For the first time since Independence, Bir Singh village under Hatighisa Gram Panchayat in Naxalbari is getting a crematorium.


The foundation stone for the crematorium was laid on the same day by Naxalbari Panchayat Samiti Sabhapati Ananda Ghosh. With the commencement of the work, long-standing problems of residents from Bir Singh Jote, Ketugabur Jote, Bhelta Jote and four other villages are expected to be resolved.

Local residents expressed happiness over the start of the project. Speaking on the occasion, Ananda Ghosh said the work has begun in response to a long-pending demand of villagers.


He added that under the ‘Amader Para Amader Samadhan’ initiative, villagers are actively participating in resolving their own issues. He also stated that the Chief Minister has allocated ₹10 lakh for development in each booth under the project.
