The series of dramatic exits from Mamata Banerjee’s party ahead of the Bengal election continues. Trinamool Congress MP Dinesh Trivedi announced his resignation from Rajya Sabha, today. He said that he felt an inability to do anything, and was unable to see the violence in his state, and was therefore resigning.
Trivedi said that he was forced to make a decision, and had to follow his “conscience” after looking at “the kind of violence taking place in his state” of West Bengal and that he would continue to work for “Bengal and the country.” Later, he handed over his resignation to Rajya Sabha chairman and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
