Siliguri, 15th December: Sensation spread after another case of labourer’s death after falling from an under-construction multi-storey building in Siliguri surfaced. While one died in the tragic incident, three have been reported injured. The incident took place this evening on Pranami Mandir Road of Ward No. 40 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
Reportedly, a work of painting was going on in an under-construction multi-storey building located on the said road. Four labourers fell down due to the breaking of the structure while painting. Out of which one labourer died on the spot, while three labourers sustained injuries.
On receiving the news of the incident, IC Amresh Singh of Bhakti Nagar Police Station and Ward Councilor and Mayor-Council Rajesh Prasad Sah alias Munna Prasad reached the spot. After which the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Siliguri District Hospital.
At the same time, the injured labourers have been admitted to a local nursing home. Their identities have not been ascertained yet. Speaking about this incident, Ward Councilor and Mayor-Council Rajesh Prasad Shah alias Munna Prasad said that he reached the spot as soon as he got the news of the incident. Efforts are being made to know the identity of the labourers. Strict action will be taken if the promoter’s negligence is found during the investigation of the incident
