Malda, 13th January: Once again, an innocent life was lost for dowry. The charges have been raised against the woman’s in-laws, including her husband. The deceased has been identified as Hasina Khatun (22).
The father of the deceased, Tajamul Sai, stated that his daughter, Hasina, was married to Sheikh Kalimuddin, a resident of Sahapur village in Harishchandrapur, three years ago. It has been alleged that Hasina was subjected to mental and physical torture in her in-laws’ house for dowry. It was reported that Hasina’s body, which was found hanging from a noose, was recovered, on Sunday night.
The father of the deceased alleged that his daughter was murdered for dowry. Meanwhile, a written complaint has been lodged at Harishchandrapur Police station on behalf of the deceased’s family members. Meanwhile, the accused are absconding since the incident. The Police are currently searching for them.
