Another arrested in connection with seized country-made pistol at Indo-Nepal Border

Kharibari, 19th December: In a recent development to the arrest of Mohammad Miraj with a country-made pistol at the Indo-Nepal border in Panitanki area, Kharibari police have arrested another individual, Swapan Barman, in connection with the case.


Miraj was initially apprehended on December 4 with a pistol during a raid by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). After his arrest, police launched an investigation and arrested Swapan Barman on Wednesday night. Swapan’s name came to light during the interrogation of Miraj, following the SSB’s operation. The suspect will be presented in the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Thursday.

The police are now focusing on the origin of the country-made pistol. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to uncover the network behind the smuggling.
