Naxalbari, 19th December: The annual sports meet involving all primary schools and child education centres under the Maniram Gram Panchayat of Naxalbari was held at Ashapur Tea Estate Primary School on Thursday.
According to sources, students from 15 primary schools and nine child education centres participated in the competition. The event was inaugurated by Arun Ghosh, Sabhadhipati of the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad. Maniram Gram Panchayat Pradhan Gautam Ghosh, Upa Pradhan Ranjan Chik Baraik, and other officials were also present.
The sports meet commenced after the hoisting of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem. Prizes were distributed among the best-performing participants.
The winners of the competition will go on to represent the Naxalbari circle and later participate at the district level. On the occasion, the Sabhadhipati and the Gram Panchayat Pradhan extended their best wishes to all the participating athletes.
