Kurseong, 16th July: After the dramatic exit of Binay Tamang from Gorkha Janmukti Morcha on Thursday, a Central Executive Committee meeting was called at Kurseong. In the meeting, Anit Thapa, the party’s General Secretary, was elected as the acting president of GJM 2.
While addressing the media, party leader Keshav Raj Pokhrel maintained that the GJM-2’s Central Executive Committee comprising of all the Central Committee members, representatives from Darjeeling, Mirik, Kurseong and Kalimpong, called for a meeting today at the Krseong Community Hall. During the meeting, the resignation letter sent by former party president Binay Tamang was accepted.
“Aiming to take forward the ideology of the party which was set in 2017, the house has decided to elect Anit Thapa as the acting president of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha 2,” Pokhrel informed. He further assured the party’s supporters that GJM-2 will continue to work towards the “Naya Sooch, Naya Bichar” ideology.
