Rajganj, 14th May: Anganwadi workers and helpers from various gram panchayats under Rajganj Block staged a protest on Wednesday in front of the office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), pressing for a 10-point list of demands. A delegation of the workers also submitted a memorandum to the CDPO.
The protesters demanded timely payment of full honorarium by the 1st of every month and timely disbursement of allocated funds for eggs, vegetables, fuel, and spices. They also called for the provision of proper cooking utensils at Anganwadi centres, as well as urgent issuance of appointment letters and completion of the recruitment process for vacant posts.
Among the other six demands were the supply of essential materials for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) activities, access to clean drinking water and proper toilet facilities, and the renovation of old Anganwadi buildings.
