Anganwadi workers protest in Siliguri demanding increased allowances

Siliguri, 08th February: Anganwadi workers in Siliguri, under the banner of the West Bengal Anganwadi Worker and Helper Welfare Association, staged a protest march and conducted an agitation at the SDO office, raising several demands including an increase in allowances.


The protest began at the location near the Gandhi statue in Siliguri, with over 300 Anganwadi workers from both the hills and the plains participating. The workers marched to the SDO office as part of their demonstration.

The primary demand of the workers was an increase in their allowances, along with several other issues they wished to address. Anganwadi workers warned of a larger movement if their demands were not met promptly.
