Naxalbari, 08th January: The West Bengal Trinamool Congress Anganwadi and ASHA Workers Welfare Association organized a workers’ meeting in Naxalbari. During the meeting, the issues faced by ASHA workers were discussed, and State Health Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya raised voices against the central government’s indifference towards their problems.
The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Arun Ghosh, Chairman of the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Council, Ranjan Sarkar, Deputy Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, and Papiya Ghosh, President of the Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress, among others.
ASHA workers from the four blocks of the sub-division attended the meeting and highlighted their concerns. Their demands include better allowances, health insurance, and permanent employment status. They also submitted a memorandum addressing these issues.
Addressing the gathering, Chandrima Bhattacharya stated that discussions on various issues concerning ASHA workers were held. She urged the workers to raise their voices against the central government and fight for their rights.
