Siliguri, 29th October: Siliguri gears up for Kali Puja with preparations in full swing. On Sunday, the Amra Sobai Surya Sen Sporting Club in Ward No. 34 of Siliguri held the customary ‘Khutti Puja’ to mark the beginning of Shyama Puja.
According to reports, the club presents an attractive puja mandap for the city’s general public every year. In the 53rd year of celebrating Kali puja, the club will display a puja mandap illustrating the theme of “Raj Rajeshwari, Rani Rupe Maa” followed by the traditional ‘Khutti Puja’. The puja organisers anticipate that with their unique theme the puja mandap will captivate the interests of the visitors.
Speaking at the occasion, the Secretary of the Puja Committee, Satyajit Singh Roy stated that community service work will also be conducted alongside the puja. Furthermore, a campaign will be held to spread awareness about dengue.
