Rajganj, 03rd March: The political atmosphere heated in the Dabgram-Fulbari assembly constituency after banners bearing ‘Amra Bhoomiputra Chai’ (We want our land’s son) emerged in the Chunabhatti area near Uttar Kanya on Wednesday morning. The banners which were put up anonymously are raising many questions.
According to the TMC sources, Tourism Minister and Trinamool Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Goutam Deb is likely to contest as the party’s candidate from the constituency again. In view of this, he has been continuously campaigning with the party workers in the area.
Meanwhile, the posters bearing the message — ‘Dabgram-Fulbari assembly constituency wants ‘Amra Bhoomiputra, Amra Didir Sainik’ (Our land’s son, Our sister’s army) as the Trinamool Congress candidate — has boiled up the political scenario in the area.
Addressing the matter, Debasish Paramanik, Member of Jalpaiguri District Council, President of the Dabgram-Fulbari TMC block alleged that the act was committed to create confusion among the people. In support of Minister Goutam Deb, Paramanik said that he has been doing a lot of work in the area and has already started campaigning for the upcoming polls. The block President further added that he is willing to work with whomever the TMC supremo, Mamata Banarjee nominates.
