Siliguri, 04th August: A specialized team of four members from Jalpaiguri’s Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) arrived at Siliguri to meticulously probe and illuminate the concealed facets of the Amit Sahani death case. Accompanied by the Inspector-in-Charge (IC) of the Pradhan Nagar Police Station, the forensic team arrived at the Gulma River site to conduct a comprehensive examination.
It has to be noted that on July 31, Amit Sahni went to Gulma along with 6 friends for a picnic. During this, Amit died by drowning in the river. Later, the deceased’s family filed a complaint against his friends at the Pradhan Nagar Police Station, levying allegations of murder. Following this, the Pradhan Nagar Police sought the expertise of the Forensic team to delve deeper into the case.
As per reports, after arriving at the site on Friday, the team measured the depth of the river water and subsequently collected water and soil samples from the spot of the incident. Additionally, the forensic team also had a detailed discussion with the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case and also with the IC. Currently, the report of the forensic team and the autopsy reports are awaited by the Pradhan Nagar Police for further progress in the death case.
