Siliguri, 03rd August: From now on, the helpless and needy people of the society will get ambulance service at only Rs 2. The initiative has been taken by a woman named Sumita Paul to commemorate her son Anirban Paul on his death anniversary.
Anirban, a resident of Haiderpara in Ward No. 39 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation, died of COVID-19 on August 03 last year. In his memory, Sumita Paul took initiative to serve the helpless people of society. She said that she lost her beloved son in the pandemic. Hoping that no one else will go through the same pain that she did, Sumita donated an ambulance to the voluntary organization Unique Social Welfare Society for serving the needy.
On the other hand, the president of the organization Rakesh Dutta said “The needy people of the society will get this ambulance service for only 2 rupees. We will try to fulfil this responsibility properly.”
