Siliguri, 28th June: The cops of Matigara police station safely rescued an individual identified as Amar Karmakar (40), alias Kado, within a few hours of the complaint of his abduction. Amar, originally a resident of Islampur has been living in the Shiv Mandir area of Siliguri for the past few years.
Reportedly, Amar’s family filed a written complaint at the Matigara Police station in Siliguri alleging abduction. Following this, police initiated an investigation and rescued Amar safely from Panjipara. After the safe rescue and the subsequent investigation, several secrets were unfolded. According to sources, Amar, during his stay in Islampur had borrowed a huge amount of money and came to Siliguri. Additionally, he borrowed money from individuals in Siliguri too. However, due to his failure to return the money, Amar was constantly pressurized by the lenders to return the borrowed money.
According to police sources, the incident of abduction possibly surfaced for not returning the borrowed money. Police are of the view that more secrets would come to the fore following further investigations. In this regard, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Subhendra Kumar, stated that police of Matigara police station rescued the Amar safely, within 3-4 hours of the complaint, during the investigation. Meanwhile, today, Amar Karmakar has been produced before the Siliguri Court. At present, the police of Matigara police station are further investigating the entire incident.
