Rajganj, 06th July: The Board of Administrators of Siliguri Municipal Corporation has taken an initiative to meet drinking water crisis in Siliguri. Alok Chakraborty, a member of SMC’s water supply board, inspected the Fulbari water project on Tuesday.
Drinking water crisis has arisen in Siliguri for several years now as the water supply is less than the requirement. To find out ways for alleviating the water crisis in the city at present, Alok Chakraborty inspected the Fulbari Water Project to look into the matter.
“Our main objective is to create a mega water project in Gajoldoba. For now, however, efforts are being made to lighten the water crisis in Siliguri. The Fulbari water project was inspected to find out ways to solve the issue,” Chakraborty said.
The official was accompanied by Jalpaiguri District-in-Council member Debashish Pramanik and the architects of the water supply department of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
