Siliguri, 29th September: On Friday, the board meeting of Siliguri Municipal Corporation witnessed a ruckus following the allegation raised by Trinamool Congress (TMC) Councillor Ranjan Sheel Sharma.
As per reports, the 20th board meeting of Siliguri Municipal Corporation was held today. During the meeting, the opposition allegedly pressured the board regarding the cleaning of roads before the Durga Puja.
At the end of the board meeting, Ranjan Sheel Sharma accused the Chairperson of No. 5 Borough Committee, Preetika Biswas, of removing the sanitation workers from the ward, creating problems in their work. Following this, the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Councilors of the ruling party raised their voice against Ranjan Sheel Sharma which led to a disturbance at the meeting. Later, Mayor Goutam Deb assured of addressing the issue.
