Cooch Behar, 29th September: An all-party meeting was held on Wednesday on behalf of the Cooch Behar district administration and district election commission soon after the Dinhata assembly by-election date was announced.
The meeting was held at Lansdown Hall of Cooch Behar District Magistrate’s Office. The meeting was attended by DM as well as District Election Officer Pawan Kadian, District Superintendent of Police Sumit Kumar, and other district officials. Trinamool, BJP, Congress, and Left leaders were also present at the meeting.
Detailed discussions were held regarding the Dinhata Assembly by-election. Opposition political parties raised the issue of terrorism and demanded fair and free elections.
In this regard, Cooch Behar DM Pawan Kadian said that work will be done as per the decision of the Election Commission.
