Siliguri, 15th September: The All India Agriculture and Rural Workers’ Association, on Tuesday, handed over a memorandum to Siliguri SDO Sumanta Sahay in support of multiple demands including waiver of all loans until March 31, 2021.
The association demanded quality government treatment for COVID-19 as well as other patients. They also raised a demand to waive all types of microloans, microfinance, self-help group loans, and agricultural loans.
Addressing the media, an association member stated that they urge the state government and the central government to waive all kinds of micro-loans, microfinance, self-help group loans, and agricultural loans. The committee members warned of staging larger demonstrations if their demands are not met soon.
