Alipurduar, 25th April: Sensation prevailed after the body of an unidentified woman was recovered, on Saturday morning, in the Garopara area under Kalchini police station of Alipurduar district.
As per the report, the locals were horrified after they sighted the body of the woman lying inside a pit in the said area with both her hands and feet tied up. The incident was immediately reported to the Kalchini police.
Upon receiving the news, the Kalchini police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the Alipurduar district hospital for an autopsy. According to the preliminary investigation, the dead body is estimated to be 15 days old. The police are further investigating the matter.
