Alipurduar, 11th May: Alipurduar University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Rathin Banerjee encountered a grave accident on Saturday afternoon while traveling to Siliguri.
Reports indicate that Vice-Chancellor Rathin Banerjee was en route to Siliguri from Alipurduar by road when his car collided head-on with a truck in the Bagribari area of the Guabar Nagar Gram Panchayat within the Falakata block. During this, the car overturned multiple times due to the impact. As a result, the VC suffered significant injuries.
Upon receiving news, authorities from the Falakata police station swiftly arrived at the location and Rathin Banerjee was transferred to a private hospital in Siliguri. The police are investigating the reason behind the collision.
