Alipurduar, 28th January: Alipurduar District Sabala Mela started in the Barobisha High School premises of Kumargram Block under the aegis of Alipurduar District Administration.
Reportedly, the fair will continue till February 03. The fair was inaugurated by Banga Ratna awardee Rajendranath Das. Other dignitaries including Sheila Das Sarkar, Alipurduar Zilla Parishad’s chairperson, BDO Mihir Karmakar of Kumargram block were present during the event.
A total of 36 stalls have been set up in the said fair. Students of secondary and higher secondary schools were awarded at the event and land leases were also distributed among the people. Apart from this, sewing machines were distributed to women and bicycles to the student under the Sabooj Sathi project.
