Siliguri, 23rd May: The All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC) staged a protest against the removal of three security guards from their posts at the Siliguri branch of the CGHS Wellness Center.
According to the organization, the security personnel were allegedly dismissed in a deliberate manner and replaced by guards from another private agency. AIUTUC condemned the move as unjust and detrimental to the rights and livelihoods of the workers.
Union members have demanded immediate reinstatement of the retrenched employees and warned that failure to do so would lead to intensified protests in the coming days.
