After staying at their aunt’s place, Lord Jagannath and his siblings return home

Siliguri, 28th June: Following a nine-day retreat at the Shree Gundicha temple, the divine trio, Lord Jagannath and his siblings, made their way back to their abode in grand fashion through the Bahuda Yatra chariots.

It is to be noted, that on June 20th, the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath commenced at the ISKCON temple in Siliguri. On that day, Lord Jagannath, accompanied by his elder brother Lord Balabhadra and their sister Devi Subhadra, embarked on a seven-day visit to their maternal aunt’s residence. In a manner similar to Puri, the Gundicha temple, the abode of Lord Jagannath’s maternal aunt, was constructed this year at Dabgram Maidan in Ward No. 24 of Siliguri.

During the Rath Yatra, Lord Jagannath’s chariot departed from the ISKCON temple grounds and proceeded to complete a circumambulation of the entire city before reaching the aunt’s residence. Today, Lord Jagannath, hus siblings, and other deities have returned to their original dwelling after a week-long stay at their aunt’s place. Despite the rainfall, a massive congregation of devotees was observed at Dabgram Maidan on this auspicious day.
