Siliguri, 28th April: After Mohun Bagan, a road is now being inaugurated in Siliguri in the name of East Bengal Club. On April 30, this road will be officially named the East Bengal Road, and preparations are currently underway. The road stretches from Siliguri Mahakuma Parisad to the BSNL office, passing through the ticket counter of the stadium.
The East Bengal Fan Club has initiated various preparations for this event, including wall writing and organizing programs to commemorate the occasion. On the day of the inauguration, a procession will be held, and the entire city will be decorated with red and yellow flags. The road’s inauguration will be presided over by Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb, with the attendance of former footballers of the club, including Manoranjan Bhattacharya, Bhaskar Ganguly, and Samaresh Chowdhary.
It is to recall that on April 02, the road of Mahananda Lalmohan Moulik Niranjan Ghat was named Mohan Bagan Avenue. Anup Basu, General Secretary of the East Bengal Fan Club, mentioned that they are also decorating the entire city, anticipating a derby match between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan Club in Siliguri in the coming days.
