Alipurduar, 03rd December: A dead leopard was found in the Mechpara Tea Estate of Alipurduar district, creating a stir in the region.
The carcass was found by the workers in Section 7 of the tea estate, near a drainage area. The workers immediately alerted the forest department, and upon receiving the information, officials from the Buxa Tiger Reserve arrived at the site to retrieve the body of the leopard.
According to forest department sources, the leopard was a male, and there were no visible signs of injury on its body. The carcass has been sent to Rajabhatkhawa for a post-mortem examination. The cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report is received.
