Rajganj, 29th August: An administrative meeting with Durga Puja committees was held at the Thakur Panchanan Barma Conference Hall of Rajganj BDO office ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja.
The meeting was attended by officials of Rajganj block administration, police, fire department, electricity department, and other concerned departments, along with members of various Puja committees from the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajganj Joint BDO Saurav Mandal said that the meeting was convened to brief all Puja clubs about the procedures for obtaining permissions. From this year, the state government has launched an online portal named ‘Aasaan’ through which clubs can apply for Durga Puja permissions.
The application process will be open from 1st to 10th September. Last year, around 87 clubs were granted permission, and they have been asked to reapply this year. However, no new clubs will be granted permission for organizing Puja this year.
