Siliguri, 04th September: In a significant breakthrough, authorities at the Ambari Out Post successfully apprehended the prime accused, Abdul Rahman, allegedly involved in the encroachment and destruction of a government Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS) center in the Rajganj block, under the jurisdiction of Binnaguri Gram Panchayat.
The incident in question occurred approximately two months ago when Abdul Rahman, identified as a member of the local land mafia, was accused of orchestrating the destruction of the ICDS center. Following the incident, staff members of the ICDS center had fervently called for the arrest and strict punishment of those responsible. However, Rahman had managed to evade capture since the initial complaint was lodged with the Ambari Outpost.
After a lengthy period of eluding law enforcement, Abdul Rahman was finally apprehended in Akarigarh by authorities from the Ambari Outpost on Sunday. Subsequently, he was swiftly brought to the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station. On Monday, he was presented before the Jalpaiguri court.
