Siliguri, 26th June: Siliguri police have arrested a thief, identified as Niki Das (20), a resident of Diesel Colony under Matigara police station, for stealing AC cables from houses and offices across the city.
Reportedly, Niki Das had been involved in a series of AC cable thefts, which he then sold at a scrap warehouse. On Tuesday night, officers from the Siliguri police station apprehended Niki on PNT Street. A substantial quantity of stolen AC wires was recovered from him.
The accused was presented in the Siliguri court on Wednesday. Police have launched an investigation into the case.
