ABVP stages protest in Siliguri demanding CM Mamata Banerjee’s resignation

Siliguri, 21st April: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest in Siliguri demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, citing unrest in the state over SSC job recruitment corruption and opposition to the Waqf Act.

On Monday, ABVP supporters gathered at Hashmi Chowk with posters and began their demonstration, calling for the CM’s resignation and the imposition of President’s rule in West Bengal. They later blocked the road as part of the protest.

Tensions escalated when protestors burned an effigy of the Chief Minister and clashed with police personnel. However, the situation was brought under control following police intervention.
