ABVP protests in Siliguri over R.G. Kar incident, submits memorandum to SDO

Siliguri, 21st August: The R.G. Kar incident has stirred nationwide uproar, prompting protests across the country. On Wednesday, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized a protest march demanding the immediate execution of the culprits and the resignation of the Chief Minister.

The march commenced from East Bengal Road, adjacent to Kanchanjunga Stadium in Siliguri, and proceeded through Hospital More, Hashmi Chowk, and Hill Cart Road before reaching the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO). Meanwhile, a police force was deployed to manage the situation and halt the procession.

Later, the ABVP activists staged a protest by burning an effigy of the Chief Minister outside the SDO’s office. This action led to a confrontation with the police, resulting in a scuffle between the activists and law enforcement officials.

Subsequently, a five-member delegation from ABVP entered the SDO’s office to submit a memorandum outlining their demands.
