Siliguri, 07th November: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has announced a massive student rally in Siliguri under the slogan ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’. The rally, titled ‘Chhatra Hunkar’, will be organised on November 19, from Baghajatin Park to the SDO Office in Siliguri.
The programme was announced by ABVP members during a press conference at the organisation’s office in Siliguri on Saturday.
According to the organisation, around 10,000 students from 12 organisational districts of North Bengal are expected to participate in the rally. ABVP members also said that they plan to extend the movement to different parts of the state, including South Bengal, in the coming days.
During the press conference, ABVP members said that India’s Gen Z would work in the interest of the country and claimed that they would not allow India to move towards a situation similar to that of Bangladesh or Nepal.
They alleged that various political parties were attempting to create instability in different parts of the country in the name of Gen Z movements. They also accused parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party and the Cockroach Janata Party, of weakening the democratic system.
The organisation further claimed that foreign forces were attempting to create anarchy in the country.
ABVP members said that students were being brought together to take to the streets in protest against these developments. They added that the November 19 rally in Siliguri would be an effort to strengthen this protest.
