Cooch Behar, 26th April: Trinamool Congress’ National General Secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, is currently on a tour of Cooch Behar district, participating in party programs with the upcoming Panchayat polls in mind. However, during his visit, a group of 32 Trinamool leaders resigned from the party together, causing a stir in the political atmosphere. The leaders expressed their displeasure with the party.
Reportedly, the incident occurred in Dhalpal Gram Panchayat-1 under Tufanganj Block-1. According to sources, the 32 leaders accused the party of neglecting its older workers. Meanwhile, the BJP Mandal President, Jugal Kishore Das, did not miss the opportunity to take a jibe at the TMC following the incident.
