Siliguri, 27th August: Pradhan Nagar police have solved the theft case involving ceiling fans stolen from Champasari’s Sri Guru Vidyamandir High School in Siliguri. The police have arrested the main accused, Shibu Pal (26), and recovered 9 out of the 12 stolen ceiling fans.

As per details received, the incident took place after the school closed on Sunday, July 21, following classes held the previous day. Taking advantage of the school being shut, a group of thieves stole 12 ceiling fans and fled. The theft came to light when the school reopened on Monday, July 22, and the school management subsequently lodged a written complaint at Pradhan Nagar Police Station.

The police launched an investigation based on the complaint and, after a month of efforts, managed to crack the case. Acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended Shibu Pal on Monday night and recovered 9 fans in his possession. The accused was presented in Siliguri court on Tuesday.

Further investigation into the theft is ongoing as police work to trace the remaining stolen fans and uncover more details regarding the case.
