Siliguri, 14th May: The much-awaited Gitanjali Mango Festival is set to return to Siliguri for its eighth edition, bringing a treat for mango lovers. The festival will be held at City Centre from June 6 to June 8.
This year, more than 300 varieties of mangoes will be displayed, alongside mango-based products such as sweets, pies, pickles, mango leaves, and dried mangoes.
In a press conference held at the Siliguri Journalists Club on Wednesday, organisers announced that 62 farmers from across the country will participate in the festival, offering rare and exotic mango varieties. A total of 30 stalls will be set up during the exhibition.
One of the main attractions of the event will be the rare ‘Miyazaki’ mango, valued at nearly ₹2 lakh. The festival will also feature a special collection of lost indigenous mango varieties.
