Jalpaiguri, 04th April: In a tragic road accident, an eight-year-old boy died after being hit by a lorry in the Nayapara area of Jalpaiguri. Tension gripped the entire area after the incident took place.
According to local sources, the boy was traveling with his father on a scooter when a lorry, while overtaking them, lost control and rammed into the scooter. The child unfortunately came under the wheels of the truck and died on the spot. On the other hand, his father is seriously injured. The identity of the deceased child was not determined at the time of reporting.
Soon after the incident, the locals protested by blocking the road. They alleged that numerous trucks loaded with goods are parked on the roadside due to which accidents happen frequently in the area. Furthermore, the locals accused the administration of not taking any step. Later, a large police force reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Police are investigating the matter
