Siliguri, 15th August: The 75th Independence Day of India was celebrated in Siliguri Girls High School through a cultural programme.
SMC administrator Goutam Deb lighted a lamp and hoisted the national flag. Besides, he paid homage by laying a wreath at the martyrs’ altar. He then felicitated Arpita Ghoshal, a former student of the school, who secured 11th place in the state in the WBCS examination.
Goutam Deb said, “In the 75th year of independence, our prayer is to take the country and the society towards progress through concerted and united efforts at all levels.”
