72nd Republic Day celebrated at Siliguri Police Commissionerate

Siliguri, 26th January: The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated at the Siliguri Police Commissionerate. The Siliguri Police Commissioner Devendra Prasad Singh inaugurated the programme by hoisting the national flag. Following which, he drove around the parade ground in a jeep.


   

Siliguri Metropolitan Police showcased their strength during the Republic Day celebrations today. Water tanks, anti-Red Squad team, VIP bulletproof cars were displayed during the parade.


Apart from this, awareness was raised among the general public. A number of tablos were presented which highlighted child marriage, child trafficking, Safe Drive Save Life, state tourism department, and programmes of several voluntary organizations. A Dog Show was also organized on behalf of SSB Ranidanga.

Siliguri Police Commissioner Devendra Prasad Singh greeted everyone on the 72nd Republic Day and urged the common people to follow all laws and order. He also thanked the state government for strengthening the Metropolitan police.

Singh also gave awards to the good performers in today’s parade.
