Malda, 02nd January: The Malda Police has arrested seven members of the Motorcycle and E-Rickshaw (Toto) smuggling gang. The Police have recovered 7 E-Rickshaws (Totos) and 9 motorcycles from their possession. It has been reported that all the accused were trying to sell the stolen E-Rickshaws and motorcycles.
The special team of the Malda Police conducted a campaign, based on a tip-off, and arrested the accused along with the confiscated E-Rickshaws and motorcycles. At a press conference, on Thursday morning, the Malda DSP Prashant Debnath stated that the English Bazar Police had conducted separate operations and recovered 7 E-Rickshaws in total.
The Police also recovered the stolen motorcycle from the Vaishnav Nagar Police station frontier. He further stated that the recovered E-Rickshaws and motorcycles will be returned to their owners through the court.
